At Dawn

18.08.2019

5.00 am-9.00 am

The August sun rises a bit later. At the break of dawn, we will be awoken by tireless female artists. Firstly, Ania Karpowicz – a brilliant flautist and a populariser of classical music, specialising in projects realised in the urban space. She is also the founder of the – now discontinued – Lokal na Poważnie concert series, and the initiator of the WarszeMuzik festival (along with the pianist Marek Bracha). As the sun climbs up the horizon, musicians known as kwaśny deszcz [acid rain] emerge. This will be the scenic debut of persons who for now would prefer to stay anonymous. Standing before an audience of, among others, a duck, a bat, and a little hedgehog, they will perform their audio-drama – a ditty based on old fairy tales, concerned about the shared fate of humans and other animals. Following them, a DJ set by the dazzling Nyisa. Well-known to attendees of a couple Varsovian parties, this time she will present to all gathered in Królikarnia a romantic poem on afrobeat.
