CONCERTS: "At Dawn"
From the very beginning of Królikarnia, the dawn was an important time in the local day schedule. When the first rays of sunlight appeared in the park, a small herd of rabbits was released and Augustus II the Strong with his entourage could begin hunting. The celebration of sunrise within the cycle "At Dawn" is not as extravagant but equally sophisticated. Early morning sunlight and urban greenery provide an environment for people and animals to encounter music. This edition of "At Dawn" encourages a reflection on the theme of imitation. The musicians who perform this year invoke the spirits of serious musical traditions: folk music, improvisation, Polish musical avant-garde. Yet – as it is usually the case with spirits – those traditions do not materialise in a concrete form. They merely serve as bricks to assemble the myths of the present day.
